Spotware Release cTrader Desktop Version 3.3

On Wednesday the 26th of September, Spotware announced the release of cTrader desktop version 3.3. This new version of the flagship desktop trading platform is ready to test in the Public Beta version of cTrader. It’s always recommended to test new features before that are pushed to live.

It was stated in the company announcement “After the big release of the 3rd generation of cTrader, the platform went through the stabilization stage in the following updates and now we are set to start releasing new and exciting features. The upcoming update to version 3.3 provides more usability by extending its chart tools, as well as introduces the ability to manage sessions on all devices enhancing the security of the platform.”

In this new update, you can find the following new features:

Chart Symbol Selector

cTrader now has a new drop-down menu to change symbols inside charts. This is a new efficient way to switch the active symbol of a chart and being able to keep the chart templates the same. This allows you to keep the existing timeframe, chart type, colour settings, indicators and all other chart settings.

Linked Charts

This new feature was already released to cTrader Web is now available on cTrader desktop. With this feature, you can assign a colour to a symbol, when the same colour is assigned to other chart elements they become linked. This means when you change the active symbol in one, the active symbol in the other linked elements also changes. Favourite Timeframes

This feature is similar to the bookmarks features of your web browser. You can set your favourite chart types and timeframes for them to be overlayed on top of the chart for you to quickly switch between your favourite chart types and timeframes. The setup your favourites, click on the timeframe dropdown for a specific chart, this will show the timeframe menu. On the timeframe menu, there are four columns for Standard, Tick, Renko and Range periods. When you hover over one of the options, a tick will become visible, when you select, it will become one of your favourites for the active chart.

Alongside this feature, new hotkeys were added (which can’t be customized). The up and down arrow keys allow you to shift up and down you favourite timeframes.

Traders’ favourite frames for all tick-, time-, and volatility-based chart types are now available directly in the chart. They can check the corresponding items when selecting a timeframe to create quick-access buttons, as well as switch between their favourites with Up and Down keyboard arrows.

Range and Renko Bars

The much-anticipated Range and Renko bars are now available. Renko bars are available with steps from 1 to 100 pips. Range bars are available with steps from 1 to 10,000. Range bars are used by traders interested in price volatility. Renko charts focus on certain price movements established in Pips.

Manage Active Sessions

A new link has been added to the cTrader platform. You can find it below your username (when you are signed into cTarder ID) in the top right corner of the platform. This “Active Sessions” link will open the cTrader ID site where you will be able to see a list your active session on all cTrader devices across all brokers.
