New cTrader Pencil Tool

cTrader Pencil Tool and Much More in Version 3.4

Spotware has just announced the release of version 3.4 of its flagship cTrader Web platform. The new version is still at the Beta testing phase which generally lasts a month or so before the general update to live brokers. However, these new features are ready to try before they reach your live account. Spotware has put much of the emphasis of this release on the Pencil Tool.

cTrader Pencil Tool

The cTrader Pencil Tool allows you to draw shapes and objects on charts in any chart mode by means of a pen cursor. Used to draw free-form, or annotate on a chart, the Pencil Tool is not bound to a specific shape like most other drawing tools and objects. It allows you to make notes directly on the chart.

Upgrade for Line Study Tool

The introduction of new Line Study tools offers more options to customise your technical analysis outlook. Among the new additions are a colour picker with opacity settings and a line thickness selector. These new options can be accessed through the Objects Toolbar or found when unfolded by left-clicking on an object.

Trading Central Targets Improvement

cTrader’s Active Symbol Panel, the new focal point of the platform has just been extended with actionable Trading Central Targets. Previously you could just browse available targets and trade on them from an embedded indicator on the corresponding symbol chart. Now you can trade directly from this panel, switch between intraday and short-term trading modes, open the chart and gain insights by clicking “See more” to unfold complete details.

Addition Hotkeys Introduced

Two new hotkeys have been added. One hotkey allows you to switch between the Symbol Finder and your Watchlists. The other hotkey allows you to duplicate an object. Not quite copy and paste, but will save time nonetheless.

  • Ctrl + F –  to switch between Watchlists and Finder
  • Ctrl + Drag –  to duplicate an object

Spotware Company Announcement

Panagiotis Charalampous, the Head of Community Management at Spotware commented on the release:

“Used to free-form draw on, or annotate a chart, the Pencil Tool is not bound to a specific shape, and further allows traders to make their notes when setting up a trade. The upgrade to Line Study Tools, in turn, comes with an additional degree of object personalization, while the Trading Central update of Targets adds an extra decision-making option for our brokers to offer their clientele.”
